In an era where the global economy is increasingly powered by knowledge and talent, Nigeria is positioning itself to take advantage of the opportunities through the launch of the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP). The Federal Government of Nigeria launched NATEP on the 22nd of September 2023 at the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States of America. It aims to create 1 million jobs and boost Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings by harnessing the country’s vibrant human capital. NATEP will facilitate the jobs through 2 channels, namely through outsourcing and through physical talent exports.
The Federal Government of Nigeria, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has introduced the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP) as part of the Renewed Hope Agenda. First, this initiative aims to create 1 million jobs over the next five years. Furthermore, NATEP will position Nigeria as a global talent hub, enhancing competitiveness in business process outsourcing (BPO) and service exports. Additionally, the program targets increasing foreign exchange earnings, fostering economic growth, and building a stronger Nigerian brand identity.
By leveraging Nigeria’s youthful, skilled population, the program will position the country as a leading service and talent exporter, contributing to sustainable economic development.
