NJFP 2026
Finding a good job right after finishing your National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year can feel like an uphill battle. With high competition in the job market, fresh graduates often face the classic paradox: you need experience to get a job, but you need a job to get experience.
That is exactly where the Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme (NJFP) steps in.
Led by the Federal Government of Nigeria, funded by the European Union (EU), and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the NJFP serves as a premier talent bridge. Following the massive impact of its initial phases, the rollout of NJFP 2.0 scales up this initiative to connect over 23,000 talented graduates with fully paid, 12-month placements in top-tier public and private sector organisations nationwide.
If you want to transition seamlessly from “learning to earning,” here is everything you need to know about NJFP 2.0, including eligibility criteria, benefits, and step-by-step tips to ace your application.
The NJFP is a strategic youth employability initiative designed to fight graduate unemployment and underemployment. Instead of short-term fixes, the programme focuses on workforce transformation by pairing fresh graduates with reputable host organisations—ranging from tech startups and financial institutions to multinational corporations and government agencies.
For 12 months, fellows gain hands-on corporate experience, receive professional mentorship, and pick up critical digital and entrepreneurial skills to thrive in the modern economy.
The NJFP is widely considered one of the most comprehensive graduate fellowships in Africa. Selected participants receive a robust package designed to support both financial stability and professional growth:
To maintain high standards for host organisations, the application process is highly competitive. To apply for the current application cycle, you must meet the following criteria:
| Requirement | Specification |
| Nationality | Must be a citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. |
| Age Limit | 30 years old or younger at the time of application. |
| Education | Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) from any discipline. |
| Graduation Timeline | Must have graduated no earlier than 2022. |
| Academic Standing | Minimum of Second Class Lower (2.2) for university graduates or Upper Credit for HND holders. |
| NYSC Status | Must have completed the mandatory NYSC year or possess an official exemption letter. |
| Employment Status | Must be currently unemployed and not participating in another paid fellowship. |
Getting selected requires navigating a structured evaluation process. Understanding the journey ahead helps you prepare effectively:
Create a profile on the official NJFP portal. You will need to submit your Curriculum Vitae (CV), a National Identification Number (NIN) slip, a Bank Verification Number (BVN), your official degree certificate, and your NYSC discharge certificate.
2. Aptitude & Psychometric Assessments: Step 2.
Once your documents are verified, you will be invited to take a computer-based aptitude test followed by a psychometric evaluation to assess your problem-solving skills and workplace readiness.
3. Video Pitch Submission: Step 3.
Shortlisted candidates are required to upload a brief video introduction/pitch. This is your chance to showcase your communication skills, enthusiasm, and commitment to contributing to Nigeria’s socio-economic growth.
4. The Talent Pool & Matching: Step 4.
Passing the assessments places you into the official talent pool. The NJFP system uses an automated matching process to pair your academic background and career goals with the talent needs of approved Host Organisations within your regional catchment area.
5. Onboarding & Deployment: Step 5.
Once an organisation selects your profile and you accept the match, you are officially onboarded as an NJFP Fellow and begin your 12-month paid corporate journey.
The NJFP 2.0 platform is optimised to be mobile-friendly, recognising that the vast majority of Nigerian graduates access digital portals via their phones. To avoid any technical glitches during your assessment or application tracking, ensure your setup meets these standards:
Expert Keyword Insight for Applicants: When drafting your CV for the portal, make sure to naturally incorporate core skills relevant to your field. The matching system connects your profile to host organizations based on target keywords in your bio and CV.
The Nigeria Jubilee Fellows Programme is much more than a monthly stipend; it is a highly regarded launchpad for your long-term career. Whether your ultimate goal is to secure a permanent corporate role, break into the digital economy, or build your own enterprise, the network and experience you build here will set you apart from the crowd.
Keep your original, notarised documents ready, polish your CV, and keep a close eye on the official application portals so you don’t miss the next cohort window.
