Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for limited vacancies for 2025/2026 Horsemanship/ Internship at Nigerian Armed Forces Reference Hospitals as follows:
- Nigerian Army
a. 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Kaduna (NARHK).
b. 68 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital, Yaba (NARHY).
c. Military Hospital, Lagos (MHL).
d. Nigerian Army Command and NAOWA Hospital, Abuja.
e. Defence Reference Laboratory, Abuja.
- Nigerian Navy
a. Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital Ojo, Lagos.
b. Nigerian Navy Reference Hospital, Calabar.
- Nigerian Air Force
a. 063 Nigerian Air Force Hospital, Abuja.
b. 461 Nigerian Air Force Hospital, Kaduna.
c. 661 Nigerian Air Force Hospital, Ikeja.

REQUIRMENTS
- Candidates applying for the housemanship/internship must possess the following:
i. Medical Doctor
a. Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
b. Provisional Certificate of Registration from the appropriate Council.
ii. Dental Therapy
- Bachelor of Science/Highest National Diploma or its equivalent from accredited institutions for dental therapists.
- Provisional practicing license from the Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria.
iii. Dental Technologists
- Bachelor of Science/Highest National Diploma for Dental Technologists or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Provisional practicing licence from the Dental Technologist Board of Nigeria
iv. Dental House Officer
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery or its equivalent from accredited institutions for Dental Surgeons.
- Certificate of provisional registration with the medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
v. Pharmacist
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or its equivalent from any recognized institution
- Provisional Certificate of Registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.
vi. Medical Laboratory Scientist
- Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Scientist (BMLS) or its equivalent from any recognized institution.
- Provisional License from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
vii. Physiotherapy/Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy or its equivalent from any recognized institution.
- Provisional practicing license from the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria.
viii. Optometry
- Doctor of Optometry and its equivalent from accredited institutions for Optometrists.
- Provisional practicing license from the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria.
ix. Radiography
- BSc Radiography/Brad or its equivalent from accredited institution for Radiographers.
- Provisional practicing license from the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria.
x. Nursing
- Bachelor of Nursing Science (BNS) or its equivalent from any recognized institution.
- Provisional Certificate of Registration from the appropriate Nursing/Midwife Council.
METHOD OF APPLICATION
- Applicants are to visit the Ministry’s website at www.defence.gov.ng to apply online while indicating their interest in where they want to do their one-year mandatory internship in the services indicated above.
- Applicants are advised to upload copies of their credentials after filling out the form online.
- Applicants are to check through their application for necessary correction before submission, as correction cannot be made after submission of the application.
- Applicants are to submit applications after satisfactorily filling the application form.
- Applicants are to print a summary of the application form and come along with it with their credentials for screening.
- Applicants should always check their email or valid phone number given during their application for any update on the date of the screening/interview exercise.
- Successful candidates will be expected to work at all the Nigerian Armed Forces Reference Hospitals in Nigeria, all for the period of one year. House Officers/Interns would be paid salaries according to the current scale approved by the federal government.
- During the period, house officers/interns are expected to work under appropriate consultants/specialists and abide by the civil service regulations as well as the ethics governing individual conduct of their professions. The closing date for submission of the application is 6th December 2024.
