The Accelerated Teacher Professionalisation Pathway (ATPP) is a national programme designed to provide a structured route for teachers who do not yet have formal professional education training to obtain recognised teaching qualifications and progress towards Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) registration and licensing.

The programme is being implemented through the education system with participation from institutions including the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) and other accredited institutions.

The Federal Ministry of Education describes teacher professionalisation as an important part of efforts to strengthen teacher competence, professional standards and learning outcomes in Nigeria.
