The Ministry of Steel Development has launched a one-month boot camp for youth empowerment in Nigeria’s metals industry. The training covers three specialized areas: welding and fabrication, industrial foundry and metallurgy, instrumentation and control systems, and mechanical maintenance. Participants who complete the program will receive equipment support to grow their businesses and create sustainable livelihoods.
Youth Empowerment: Training Categories & Eligibility

1. Welding and Fabrication
- Eligibility: Nigerian citizen, aged 18-40, with or without prior welding knowledge. Must have at least an O’ Level certificate and be able to communicate in English.
2. Industrial Foundry and Metallurgy
- Eligibility: Nigerian citizen, aged 18-40, with or without basic knowledge of foundry techniques. Must be able to communicate in English.
3. Instrumentation & Control System and Mechanical Maintenance
- Eligibility: Graduate of Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering. Must be Nigerian, aged 18-40, and able to communicate in English.
